(Postponed) God-proofs and Philosoprops: Illustrating the Intangible with Alyce Santoro and Nathan Schneider
This event is over. Sorry you missed it.
In this conversation, journalist Nathan Schneider (Harper's, The Nation, The New York Times) will discuss with artist Alyce Santoro the ways by which, in each of their work, they've found for making abstract ideas accessible in words, images, and objects. Schneider is author and illustrator of God in Proof: The Story of a Search from the Ancients to the Internet, a new book that puts arguments about the existence of God, past and present, back into the cultures and experiences from which they came. Santoro's "philosoprops" ingeniously portray philosophical ideas through physical, touchable objects—making them that much harder to ignore.
