WNET and Norman Lear hosts exclusive Shindig online Q&A for donors while also allowing general public to view on simultaneous Facebook Live streams.
Objective
By utilizing Shindig, WNET was able to create a premium donor experience without the expense of flying Norman Lear to New York City and reach more donors than might have attended a physical event. In addition, they were able to promote the premiere to a large online audience through simulcast of the event over Facebook live, thereby producing content that garnered 25k views in the period before the American Masters premiere of “Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You.”
Strategy
WNET invited a select group of donors to participate, and distributed the link to the event via social media and email outreach. For the first time, this Q&A session was also simultaneously streamed to multiple Facebook pages.
Results
Nearly 25k views in less than 3 days. A successful and Shindig record-breaking share across four separate Facebook pages (American Masters, WNET, MetroFocus and Shindig). 150 submitted questions, including several opportunities to speak directly to Lear via global video chat.
