The Harvard GSE Global Education Leadership Conference partnered with Shindig to offer participants unable to attend the event in-person the opportunity to view all panels and presentations in real-time. Over the course of the 9+ hour day, the online audience also had the ability to meet and interact with each other thanks to Shindig's audience interactivity features.
Harvard GSE invited alumni, faculty, staff, students and the community at-large to join the online audience of the Global Education Leadership Conference via email blasts, social media campaigns and word-of-mouth. Shindig's Twitter and Facebook integrations allowed online attendees to take the conference viral by using the hashtag #hgseglobal.
Harvard GSE was able to effectively double its in-room audience of 100 with an online audience of 119, who spent an average of 96 minutes viewing the conference. Some in-room participants began their day by viewing the conference at home via Shindig before traveling through snow to the venue. Archived video of the conference will allow the GSE community to disseminate the rich dialogue from the full-day event to a worldwide audience.
